On the stability of one-dimensional bushes in graphene

Abstract:

Earlier it has been proved that graphene supports four one-dimensional bushes (symmetry dictated, delocalized nonlinear vibrational modes), describing in-plane atomic vibrations. In this paper, the stability of two of them is investigated by the molecular dynamics method. It is found that for oscillation amplitudes greater than a certain critical value, the bushes lose their stability, and the critical exponent increases linearly with increasing amplitude above the critical value.
