        <p>In the framework of nonlinear micropolar elasticity, the stability of a radially compressed circular plate made of foam is studied. It is assumed that the elastic properties of the plate vary through the thickness. For the case of axisymmetric buckling the linearized equilibrium equations are derived. Using them, the size effect on plate stability is analyzed.</p>
